Marney is not your ordinary run of the mill
creature of the night. Growing up in the
cozy suburbs of Pennsylvania, Marney had
higher aspirations than his batty buddies.
He longed for a life in baseball!
Unfortunately, Marney suffers from a rare
form of allergy to sunlight. Soon though,
destiny showed him where his true calling
was, while visiting relatives in Las Vegas. "It
vas during Vayne Newton's opening act", he
recalls, "a tewible stand up comedian took
the stage, then vouldn't give it back! I
heckled him until his blood boiled, then I bit
him. ...I like my drinks varm, you know... The
audience loved me for it. I vas a smash, as
they say in the biz! Next think I know, I
have an agent, and a team of writers writing
me a comedy routine!" He shrugs his huge
vings - er, wings shyly, "The rest, is history."

Though Marney continues to struggle on
the nightclub circuit, he has been taking
voice lessons to help him get rid of an abuse
of the letter 'V', and to expand his career
into musicals. He collaborated with Andrew
Floyd Webber (Andrew Lloyd's less
expensive brother) on a short lived
off-Broadway musical called "Bats", based
on his attempts to get into the big league,
but it closed three days later. As one critic
put it, "It drains the life out of you!" Marney
is preparing a new comedy routine for
Halloween, with his eye on a special for
HBO, and a series with his brother Murray
he hopes to call "Blood Brothers".
