| Sydney the Witch terrorized the inhabitants of Blizzard Island, a 1987 CBC Television production created by Terry Angus and Stoney Ripley. Sydney was a fairly big puppet. So big in fact that Terry had to get directly under it to perform her! Sydney's body is 44" round and approximately 25" tall. With full costume, Sydney's height stretched to 45" tall! Her eyes could move with a push or a pull of Terry's index finger that allowed her to go from very angry to very surprised. In show business, it is often required to have multiple copies of a prop or costume, in case something malfunctions or is damaged. For "Blizzard Island", Terry made three copies of this evil bumbler. |
